Description:
Cherry red with cherry reflections. Very covered.

Spicy nose at first marked by creamy and toasted notes of wood reminiscent of cedar. As it opens notes of anise, scrubland, broom, pepper and red and black berries.

Very silky and fleshy mouth. A good acidity that makes it very fresh and juicy. An elegant wine with a lot of harmony.

Grape varietals:
Tinto Fino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. The grapes are sourced from 120 selected vineyard plots and 32 different villages in Ribera del Duero D.O located at an average altitude of 750-950 meters above sea level.

Harvest:
Wettest spring since 1965. Mild temperatures and no frost led to an outstanding budbreak. Milder-than-normal temperatures in May and June made us think ripening would be in danger and yet the optimal temperatures in late July and August alongside some heat waves brought the cycle forward. Despite of a rather wet spring and some summer storms the grape bunches sanitary conditions were not affected. The hottest September since 1965 with dramatic temperature changes between night and day resulted in a perfect ripening and better than expected yield. The harvest began on October 2 and ended on October 30. Good weather during harvest resulted in healthy berries. Too heavy grape clusters are removed on the sorting table.

Winemaking:
Once at the winery, grapes are sorted and destemmed and all the steps of the winemaking process will be gently carried out by gravity. The whole berries will be put into the tanks by gravity.

Aging:
12 months in 225 Quercus Pyrenaica oak barrels sourced from different forests.

Serving temperature:
Taste this wine at a temperature of 16ºC – 18ºC. Decant before serving.
